24 Frames. A Filming Project: March – Video Portrait

This year I am embarking on a video project with a group of amazing women, where we strive to create a film based on a different theme each month. This month’s theme was “video portrait.” I had a wonderful idea in my head, a classic, still, calm video of Abbie in honor of her birthday month. I pictured her hair blowing in the wind and she looked into the distance. But, none of that panned out. The reality is that she never stops moving and she never stops talking, and that’s okay by me. So I captured her first day with her new Fuji Instax camera. I am so happy to have caught this memory on film… me telling her to shake it (it meaning the photo) and her shaking the camera and asking why 🙂
